Micromax Brings New Data Card - Preloaded with Google Chrome

               Though 3G in India is yet to be popular there is high demand for 3G enabled data cards as people are using these with 2G data services which comes cheap.

Apart from Huawei and ZTE, many Indian companies have already launched own-branded unlocked 3G data cards. Micromax, one of the leading indigenous Indian handset companies has launched a new model under its 3G-HSPA data card portfolio.

The new HSPA data card from Micromax is named as 353G, and supports upto 7.2 Mbps HSDPA & upto 5.76 Mbps HSUPA as per 3GPP Release 6 and backwardly compatible with UMTS, EDGE and GPRS i.e. the data card will work on slower 2G networks as well. The data supports network frequency bands of 850/900/1800/1900/2100 MHz.


The new 353G is powered with Qualcomm MSM6290 chipset, and supports setup mode of plug and auto installation with zero CD installation. 353G also includes pre-loaded Google’s fast Chrome browser to offer best browsing experience to its users. It supports USB 2.0 high speed mode and AT Interface of 3GPP TS 27.005/3GPP TS27.007.

Apart from the data functionality with auto APN management 353G offers complete support of SMS, Contacts/Phonebook, Voice calls and USSD; simultaneous data and sms will work on it.

It also has a microSD slot to be double as maximum 16GB USB drive. This 3G data card supports all versions of Windows while Mac OS support limited to Intet CPU only.Currently it is available at Rs. 2000 as retail price.

Micromax diversifies its operations to South East Asia, Middle East and Latin America. The new 3G dongle is factory unlocked and supports more frequencies to provide seamless roaming in most of the countries.

Google change ‘Android Market’ to ‘Google Play’

              Google Inc renamed its online storefront for music, books and digital goods, its latest move to raise its profile in the market for e-content sales. The company has renamed the Android Market name for its store that sells apps, videos, music and ebooks on the Web and on mobile devices.


 
This rebranding will however be not limited to only the web version but will make its way onto Android based mobiles/tablets pretty soon as well.

Android market, Google Music and Google eBook store had already replaced with Google Play store. For example, Android market redirects to Google Play Store, Google eBook store redirects to Google Play Book Store and Google Music redirects to Google Play Music Store.

Since Google Music and Google ebook store are not available in India, Google Play will be redesigned and rebranded Android Market. The new app Google Play shall soon be rolling to all Android devices running on 2.2 Froyo and above through OTA (Over the air) in phased manner.

Gmail Gets a New Look

            Google has just announced that that Gmail will finally get the new look which was previewed few months back. The preview version was available as a theme, but now Google will roll out the new look across all accounts. There are many new features added to the new look including smarter navigation, conversation view and also new themes. If you what you get the new look click on the Switch to the new look in the bottom-right of Gmail. and this will be available in the coming days.

New Features available:

1. Better Conversation view: The conversation view was one feature available in Gmail for long time now and with the new design it has further improved. The new conversation view is much more simpler, readable and less cluttered.

2. Customizable screen size: We all know that Gmail automatically changes the width and layout based on screen size, but with the new version you can select the screen size, if you want elements to be closer, you can choose the dense view.

3. HD Themes: The themes section has been completely rebuild with new high resolution themes with imagery provided by iStockphoto.

4. Smarter Navigation: The sidebar elements are now resizable and can be set based on your preferences. For example, you can increase or decrease the height of chat box and labels available on Gmail.

5. Better Search: If you have large number of email, a very good search is required to find any email. Google has now improved the search which now allows you to select and enter the fields you want to search.
